This beautifully peaceful and well cared for site is a member of ‘Tranquil Parks’ adult only touring parks, with its 5-star toilet/shower facility. The block, quite frankly is one of the best we have visited and it deservedly won ‘The loo of the year’ awards 2022.
Friendly owners Josie & Mike run this well-kept site – offering fully serviced hard standing pitches, seasonal pitches, laundry facilities and secure storage lock up facility. An added bonus is the car/caravan hot water jet wash service.
Green Acres is idyllic and picturesque and set in the heart of Cumbria, perfect for those who are looking to de-stress, relax and enjoy the beautiful surrounding countryside. Or for the more energetic, make use of the sports hall on site, which incudes badminton court, darts board and table tennis, and for a small charge equipment can be hired. For those bringing their canine companions, there is a lovely dog walk around the adjacent fields.
A weekly food delivery service is kindly offered by the lovely owners. Amazing fish & chips from a local shop on Thursdays and a roast dinner on Sunday. We can attest to how tasty the fish & chips are, but sadly never had time to try the roast. Maybe next time.
The information hut not only offers local tourist advice and you will find various reading material is available to borrow. Just five minutes in the car will bring you to Houghton Hall Garden Centre. Great place to visit, four legged friends also welcome and a lovely restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating along with a tea/coffee bar. Great coffee, good food and good value. One of our favourites.
