I think we all know the advert and organisation concerned here, raising much needed funds for various charities across this country and internationally. Handing out huge jackpots, with well-known and well-paid celebrities, such as Davina McColl, Emma Willis and Fred Sirieix to name but a few, all offering their endorsements.
Scouring google, provided some interesting thoughts and suggestions as to what the general public thought about this cash raising lottery – all basically asking how much is taken out of the kitty before any of it is seen, some proposals were too rude to mention (no animals were harmed during the making of this blog).
Apparently, any door can enter, all adverts showing astonished people revealing their over-sized cheques. Hubby and I have won twice and I promise you that it hasn’t changed our life, it hasn’t gone to our heads, we are still the same humble couple, living the same humble life.
We had considered going public but thought that would be a mistake, generally people can become jealous and our friends would not be our friends for long. In particular, we didn’t want a ton of begging letters from all and sundry, we had to consider our lovely postie. But I can disclose, our first win arrived in a large envelope, containing not one, but three bars of soap. Our second win arrived, quickly being snuck away in the fridge, we didn’t dare risk our neighbour’s wrath when they discovered we had won a single bar of chocolate!
Well, had to ask hubby, ‘do you feel lucky, well do ya punk? Go ahead, make my day and open the chocolate! All donations gratefully received.
