Latest thoughts from Sue

Stephen Hawkin warned about the dangers of an uncontrolled AI evolution that could surpass human intelligence making humans obsolete and powerless to stop its progression.

In a world where so much has changed, not knowing what to believe, being coerced and constantly bombarded by strangers telling us how wonderful and young we will look if we purchase what they are selling, no wonder many of us are confused, exhausted and sick to our back teeth by it all – yep that is a strange expression I know.

I am someone that finds lying difficult and therefore tend to believe whatever is printed in front of me. Facebook is now swamped with the sheer volume of AI generated content, with scams that seem so real along with misleading news items. Universities are struggling with students dishonestly using AI tools, there has always been elements of cheating but the nature of this has now changed, with many cases going undetected.

Amazing medical breakthroughs have developed and the benefits that have resulted through this technology are immeasurable, but we also have to beware of the job displacements, loss of privacy while posing risks to the general public.

I need to know that what I’m reading or seeing is real, surely that’s not much to ask. I don’t want to wonder if I’m being scammed, taken for a ride, if my money will be safe or history has been manipulated.

But amongst all this phoney rubbish we are having to deal with in this modern world, at least one thing we can be sure of not being a hoax – I’m sure I don’t need to remind you – is of course the big man in the red suit. I for one am already singing along to Christmas songs, viewing Chrimbo movies and loving it. Hubby and I were watching one of our favourite films the other day, Love Actually, with constant smiles, yes even hubby the Grinch!

Well, from me and hubby we wish you all a wonderful restive festive Christmas. Be safe and may all your troubles be put on hold while you enjoy seeing family and friends. All our love xx

About Me

I decided to expand this blog, learning and sharing about life’s ups and downs, and the bits in-between. Come on this journey of everything ‘self’ with me, whilst trying to get to grips with having to ‘tick’ the over 60’s box!
