Mrs Potts by the River

Botley, Hampshire.

Well, stumbling across ‘Mrs Potts by the River’ you will discover an unusual, quaint, rustic little tearoom – and surprise surprise situated by the river! This tearoom with its lovely friendly owner, offers soup, sandwiches, coffee etc along with delightful cakes. Be prepared to find this small café next to the River Hamble, with its no frill’s wooden benches and of course, the obligatory ducks – so take some bread. We also spotted a couple of kayaks ambling along the watercourse, which was a bonus.

The setting for this business is a dis-used flour mill (Botley Mill) which now houses a range of office and retail businesses, including a fancy-dress hire, butcher, accountant and pet food supplies. There is free parking for the first hour and on show you will stumble across abandoned mill equipment and defunct stone grinding wheels. The Mill sits outside the picturesque market village of Botley.
